Resize Image to 10 KB: Free Online Compressor

10 KB is a very small file, and it appears on forms in two different ways. A few forms cap a file near it: the tightest on this site is GPSC (OJAS), where the photo and the signature must each be under 15 KB. Far more often, 10 KB is the minimum: SSC, IBPS, SBI, RBI, LIC AAO, NABARD and ESIC all ask for a signature between 10 and 20 KB. Check which one your form means before you compress.

This page starts the compressor at 10 KB. The tool saves a JPG at high quality first; if that is over 10 KB, it searches for the highest quality that still fits, and if even the lowest quality is too big it shrinks the pixel size by a quarter and tries again. Images wider than 1600 pixels are scaled down to 1600 first. A full phone photo therefore comes out much smaller in pixels, so crop to what matters before you start.

This page only sets a maximum, so the file can end up well under 10 KB. Form pages with a KB range work differently: if the image is too small for the minimum, they save it at full quality and then add empty JPEG comment data until the file reaches the minimum, without changing a single pixel.

How to compress an image to 10 KB

  1. Target file size is already set to 10 KB. Change it if your form gives a different limit.
  2. Pick the photo or scanned document.
  3. Check that the file size line shows โœ…, then tap Download.

If the form also gives a pixel size, use its own page instead so the shape is right too, for example the SSC photo or IBPS signature tools, or browse all exam photo and signature sizes.

Forms on this site with a 10 KB minimum

No form on this site has a 10 KB maximum, but these reject files under 10 KB. A file compressed to 10 KB or less can fall just below that minimum, so use the form's own page, which keeps the file inside its range.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress an image to 10 KB?

Pick the image on this page; Target file size is already 10 KB. Crop close to what matters, check that the file size line shows โœ…, then download the JPG.

What is a 10 KB photo size in pixels?

There is no fixed pixel size for 10 KB: it depends on how much detail the picture has and on the JPEG quality. A plain signature on white paper compresses well; a detailed face photo has to lose pixels or quality to fit. If your form gives a pixel size, use that form's page so the shape is right too.

My form says 10 to 20 KB. Should I use this page?

No. This page can produce a file under 10 KB, which those forms reject. The exam's own page (for example SSC or IBPS signature) keeps the file between 10 and 20 KB and pads it up to the minimum if the image is too small.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing, compression, face detection and background removal all run inside your browser. The photo never leaves your device and nothing is stored.
