Resize Image to 200 KB: Free Online Compressor

200 KB is one of the larger limits on online forms. NTA's JEE Main, NEET UG and CUET UG forms ask for a photo between 10 and 200 KB, and the OCI card and the Indonesia e-Visa / e-VOA photo must be under 200 KB. This page starts the compressor at 200 KB, so you only need to pick the JPG and download.

Your photo stays on your device. Face detection and background removal also run on your device.

The tool saves at high JPEG quality first and lowers it only as far as needed to fit, keeping the highest quality under 200 KB. It shrinks the pixel size only if even the lowest quality is too big. Images wider than 1600 pixels are scaled down to 1600 first.

The other rules still apply. The OCI photo must be square on a plain light background that is not white, while NTA asks for a white background with 80% of the face visible. The Canada online passport photo is the opposite case: it must be at least 200 KB, so do not compress it here.

How to compress an image to 200 KB

  1. Target file size is already set to 200 KB. Change it if your form gives a different limit.
  2. Pick the photo or scanned document.
  3. Check that the file size line shows โœ…, then tap Download.

If the form also gives a pixel size, use its own page instead so the shape is right too, for example the SSC photo or IBPS signature tools, or browse all exam photo and signature sizes.

Forms on this site with a 200 KB limit

These applications accept files up to 200 KB. Some also set a minimum and a pixel size, so their own page is the safer choice.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce a JPG to 200 KB?

Pick the JPG on this page; Target file size is already 200 KB. Check that the file size line shows โœ…, then download the new JPG.

Which forms ask for a photo under 200 KB?

On this site: JEE Main, NEET UG and CUET UG (10 to 200 KB, 350 x 450 pixels here), the OCI card (under 200 KB, square) and the Indonesia e-Visa / e-VOA (under 200 KB, 400 x 600 pixels). The table below links to each one.

Will compressing to 200 KB make my photo blurry?

Less than at 20 or 50 KB, because a larger limit leaves room for higher quality. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits, and shows the new size next to the download button so you can check it first.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing, compression, face detection and background removal all run inside your browser. The photo never leaves your device and nothing is stored.
